In the days leading up to spring break the library was buzzing with activity. On Tuesday fifth graders worked together determining the best candidates to take on the Lewis and Clark expidition. They were back on Thursday to create I Spy pictures and poems. Thanks to Mrs. Fredrickson at Langston Hughes for the fun idea! Have a safe Spring Break! Miss Gorup Mrs. Heatwole and I co-taught a lesson using The OK Book. Students wrote "Better than OK" poems and recorded the poems using the Audioboo app. Listen to the class Audioboo poems here. *Book cover art from Follett Title Peek March began with Read Across America Day. Each year on March 2nd, Dr Seuss' Birthday we celebrate reading. The Olymipc Reading Challenge continues- only one week left to go! Students have been busy writing poems and stories. Keep checking to blog for links to their creations! Happy Reading! Miss Gorup February has flown! Despite all of our snow days, students still checked out over 2,600 books this month. This month the 700's section was still the most popular area in nonfiction. Second through fifth graders started work on the Olympic Reading challenge that will continue through March 14. Keep Reading! Miss Gorup |
